the tennis backhand, swerving a football, flicking a
hockey ball, perfecting the spin pass and bowling a cricket ball. Yet modern young athletes struggle to sprint to first base.

After
an extended period researching journals on coaching young athletes
Coach Anson recognized that here in the UK very little is done to
improve an athlete’s strength, speed, power and fitness outside of
their sport. On top of this young athletes in the UK spend a
large percentage of their time in front of computers roaming the
internet, playing games on play-stations or indeed in front of
televisions.
The
Cheetar Advanced Programme has been developed to take
athletes to the
next level of their sport career pathway. Athletes graduating from the
Cheetar Sprint Programme should not go back into the routine of
practicing for their sport alone. The next four years in their physical
development is vital and may be the difference between success and
failure at the elite level.
